If your turfgrass and lawn are not looking a lush as you think it should, homeowners typically start looking for someone to help. Now, there are lots of choices out there: TruGreen, CitiTurf, Lawn Doctor, Top Turf and even just letting the guy who mows your lawn throw out some fertilizer a few times per year. At DFW Gardening & Landscaping our approach is science based, as our director has a degree in Golf Management and Turfgrass Science. And our director is who is going to come to your house if you choose to work with us. That said, can our company perform lawn fertilizing services for you as cheap as the laborer who mows your lawn? Nope. Can we compete with TruGreen's best fertilizing services, while offering a higher level of knowledge and personal service than they do? Absolutely.

Zoysia grass lawns and Bermuda grass lawns that are not looking lush, receive our science-based treatment plan to get them in shape, but St. Augustine that is unhealthy looking can have numerous other problems: TARR (Take all Root Rot) and SADD (St. Augustine Decline Virus). While Bermuda lawns can get TARR, it is rare. It is a wide-spread problem in Collin County St. Augustine yards and lawns though, which we see signs of every day. That said, it is not possible to know for 100% sure that a lawn has TARR or SADD, by driving up and looking at it the first time, as other bug damage or fungus related symptoms can mimic TARR and SADD, if we don't have the full history of your properties lawn (what was applied prior years, water schedule, neighbors, etc). The only way to know for sure is to start treatment while also sending a lab test off to Texas A&M to confirm. Here is a link to an article about TARR, written by Texas A&M: Take-All Root Rot - St. Augustinegrass and Bermudagrass (tamu.edu)
